What is the current situation of Africa?

October 8, 2021

Africa is the slowest in the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines. With a population of 1.216 billion (2016) currently only 4.62% of the population is fully vaccinated. We at AVC aim to change this with our solution. Our hope is to work with NGO’s and public organisations to ramp up the vaccine distribution in the most disadvantaged countries.

The BBC have said: “The Africa Centres for Disease Control (CDC) says the continent has now received slightly more than 103 million Covid-19 vaccine doses, with close to 70% of these vaccines already administered.

But only about 24 million people, which is just 1.7% of Africa’s population – have been fully vaccinated.

The WHO says the continent needs up to 183 million more doses to fully vaccinate 10% of its population by the end of September, and about 729 million more doses to fully vaccinate 30% by the end of 2021.”
